On Tuesday, Feb. 17, at the request of the Pickens County District Attorney’s Office, Special Agents assigned to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) launched an investigation concerning an ongoing child exploitation investigation involving an Officer with the Aliceville Police Department.
Following several arrests of school employees made by the Aliceville Police Department, SBI’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force was requested to assist. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Caminion Gary, 24, of Aliceville, who serves as an Officer with the Aliceville Police Department and is also an assistant basketball coach at a school within Pickens County. Gary was arrested by ALEA Special Agents and was officially charged with Electronic Solicitation of a Child, First-Degree Sexual Abuse, Possession of Child Sex Abuse Material, Transmitting Obscene Material, School Employee Having Sexual Contact with a Student and Enticing a Child to Enter Vehicle. Gary was booked into the Pickens County Jail without bond.
