On Wednesday, July 8, at the request of the Carbon Hill Police Department, Special Agents assigned to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) launched an officer-involved shooting investigation involving an Officer with the Carbon Hill Police Department.
The incident occurred when Officers with the Carbon Hill Police Department and Deputies with the Walker County Sheriff’s Office were conducting a welfare check at a residence in the 100 Block of Posey Road in Nauvoo, located within Walker County. Over the course of the incident, an individual identified as Christopher Scott Randolph, 47, of Nauvoo, brandished a firearm, causing an Officer with the Carbon Hill Police Department to discharge his weapon and fatally shoot Randolph. Randolph was pronounced deceased at the scene, and his body was transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences (ADFS) for an autopsy. No Officers were injured during the incident.
Nothing further is available as the investigation remains ongoing. Once complete the findings will be turned over to the Walker County District Attorney’s Office.
