On Sunday, March 29, at the request of the Uniontown Police Department, Special Agents assigned to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) launched a death investigation.
At approximately 1:09 a.m., Officers with the Uniontown Police Department responded to a call for service regarding a shooting that occurred in the 200 Block of Water Avenue in Uniontown, located within Perry County. Upon arrival, Erika Latavia Latham, 26, of Reform, was found to have been struck by gunfire and was pronounced deceased. During the course of the investigation, the suspect later identified as Deandre Brandell Langhorne, 33, of Uniontown, was arrested and officially charged with Manslaughter on Monday, March 30.
