Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Services

The mission of the Services Division is to provide consistently reliable support and assistance to the bureaus, divisions, and units of ALEA by delivering the information, material, training, and logistics required for the successful completion of the agency’s various missions.

The Services Division is comprised of six unique units: Aviation, Special Services, Training, Fleet Services, Logistics, and Information & Technology.  These six units perform various necessary functions in the support of ALEA’s mission.  The Services Division is a diverse group, performing services that range from non-law enforcement, such as building leases and maintenance, to those services that are strictly law enforcement related, such as Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD).

In addition to supporting ALEA's mission, the Services Division provides support and assistance to local law enforcement agencies throughout Alabama.  Local agency support is provided through various means, including but not limited to training new police officers at the Alabama Police Academy for service at various local Police Departments and Sherriff’s Offices, providing search and rescue capability with aviation units, and assisting with high-risk operations that require the capabilities of SWAT and EOD.
