External Affairs is responsible for devising and implementing external communications plans in which strategically delivers the agency’s message and core functions; provides information to media outlets, as well as to the public, law enforcement agencies, constituents, agency staff and others concerning ALEA operations and all aspects of law enforcement and traffic safety; coordinates safety programs, campaigns and other events; identifies opportunities to improve external impact; and is responsible for archiving data, photographs, videos, and all other statutorily required communication. In addition, the department maintains, updates and engages with the general public through social media platforms and ALEA.gov.
