On Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026, at approximately 6:30 p.m., a Trooper assigned to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division located a stolen 2003 Chevrolet Silverado traveling southbound on Interstate 65 into Montgomery County. The ALEA Trooper initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and identified the driver as Johnny Fowler IV, 25, of Union Springs. Fowler was eventually arrested and charged with Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle in Montgomery County and First-Degree Theft of Property in Jefferson County. Fowler was transported and booked into the Montgomery County Jail.
Special Agents assigned to ALEA’s State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) also responded to the scene and launched an additional criminal investigation concerning the incident as the vehicle was believed to be connected to a series of vehicle thefts.
Additional arrest(s) are expected as the investigation continues, however, no additional details are available at this time.
