On Monday, Feb. 16, at approximately 5:30 p.m., Special Agents assigned to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) launched an officer-involved shooting investigation involving officers with the Albertville Police Department.
The incident occurred when officers with the Albertville Police Department attempted to execute an arrest warrant at the 200 Block of Nixon Chapel Road in Albertville, located within Marshall County. Upon arrival, officers encountered Rodney S. Langley, 60, of Boaz, with a firearm. Langley brandished the firearm, causing officers to discharge their weapons and strike Langley. Langley was injured and transported to Huntsville Hospital for medical treatment. However, no officers were injured over the course of the incident.
Nothing further is available as the investigation remains ongoing. Once complete, the findings will be turned over to the Marshall County District Attorney’s Office.
