On March 1, 2023, Colonel Jonathan Archer was appointed by ALEA’s Secretary of Law Enforcement, Hal Taylor to be the Director of ALEA's Department of Public Safety (DPS). A native of Mobile, Colonel Jonathan Archer graduated from the University of South Alabama in 2002 with a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice and a Master’s in Public Administration. He attended and graduated from the FBI's prestigious National Academy, Session #265.
