Alabama Law Enforcement Driver License Department

The Sheffield Reinstatement Office

Will close from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 11; and will be closed Friday, Dec. 12.

Driver License Division's State Holiday Closures

All locations will be closed Thursday, Dec. 25; Friday, Dec. 26; and Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026, for state holidays.

Driver License Office Closures for Wednesday, Dec. 24

The following locations will be closed Wednesday, Dec. 24: Bay Minette, Brewton, Carrollton, Chelsea, Columbiana, Fairhope, Foley, Gadsden, Heflin, Jasper, Madison, Oneonta, Pelham, Selma and Talladega. Butler Driver License will close at 11:30 a.m. that day, with no testing after 11 a.m. More will be added as plans are finalized.

The Scottsboro Driver License Office

The current office, located at 102 E. Laurel Street, Suite 40, in Scottsboro, will close at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 23, 2025. The new office will open to the public at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, January 5, 2026, at its new location: 205 Liberty Lane, Suite 173, in Scottsboro.

The Athens Driver License Office

The current office located at 100 S. Clinton Street (Limestone County Courthouse Annex) will close at 4 p.m., Friday, December 12, 2025. The new office located at 503. S. Jefferson Street, Suite A, Athens, AL 35611 will open at 8 a.m., Wednesday, December 17, 2025.

The Opelika Reinstatement Office

Will be closed Monday, Dec. 15; and Wednesday, Dec. 17.

The Huntsville Reinstatement Office

Will open at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 12.
